High Sensitivity Tunneling Magnetoresistive Magnetometers
Summary
The Navy seeks to develop ultra‑low size, weight, power, and cost tunneling magnetoresistive (TMR) magnetometers with sensitivities below 50 pT/√Hz for use in a variety of mission sets such as one‑way attack vehicles, mine warfare and swarming systems. This effort targets a new class of highly sensitive yet compact magnetic sensors that could replace bulkier technologies across Navy platforms.
