Summary
The Department of Defense's Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) seeks research and development of a field‑deployable, passive stand‑off sensor system that can detect and identify concealed radiological, chemical, biological, energetic or other high‑risk materials without direct contact. The capability is intended to give special operations forces real‑time awareness of hidden threats in austere, cluttered environments across a range of missions, and the notice emphasizes novel non‑emitting sensing modalities such as material resonance or atomic signature recognition.
